Funding for Apprentices
The UK Government has introduced a NEW financial incentive of up to £2,000 for employers who hire a 16–24-year-old apprentice as a new employee. The incentive is valid for apprenticeships starting on or after 1 October 2026, provided the apprentice joined your team or payroll within the three months preceeding 1 October 2026 (from July 2026 onwards).
• Apprentices aged 16-18 employed from July 2026 will be entitled to a total of £3,000 (£1,000 16-18 incentive plus the new £2,000 16-24 incentive) paid to employers in 2 equal amounts of £1,500.
• Apprentices aged 19-24 employed from July 2026 will be entitled to a total of £2,000 paid to employers in 2 equal amounts of £1,000.
Incentives are paid in 2 equal amounts: the 1st payment 90 days following their official apprenticeship start date with us, and the 2nd payment after 365 days. Please note that the Government only release funding for apprentices who have been approved on the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS).
